It Started with a Dream
Jonathan and April, a dedicated married couple, always aspired to run their own aesthetics and skincare business, offering top-tier services at the most accessible prices. Despite the recession’s challenges, Jonathan recognized an opportunity when his personal skincare and hair removal specialist went out of business. As a physician assistant, he found an empty rental struggling for tenants and struck a deal with the landlord to bring in traffic in exchange for eight months of free rent by making his own sign.

Smart Money Moves
With their Home Depot credit card, Jonathan and April began renovating the space themselves, leveraging their home improvement skills. Jonathan continued his job at the emergency room, working 12-hour night shifts, catching a few hours of sleep, and then opening The Aesthetics Lounge and Spa™ at noon. He handled everything from front desk duties to operating the laser hair removal device, which had been sitting unused. By taking on multiple roles, Jonathan and April minimized overhead costs while attracting many clients with their competitive prices.
