PRP at The Aesthetics Lounge and Spa

Pre-Care

(Pre-Treatment Tips)

  • Hydrate Thoroughly: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment.
  • Avoid Blood Thinners: Discontinue medications and supplements that can thin your blood (e.g., Aspirin, Ibuprofen, fish oil, Vitamin E) for at least 5-7 days prior, after consulting with your doctor.
  • Limit Alcohol & Caffeine: Reduce alcohol and caffeine intake 24-48 hours before your treatment as they can dehydrate you and potentially increase bruising.
  • Eat a Healthy Meal: Have a nutritious meal before your appointment. This helps prevent lightheadedness during the blood draw.
  • Protect Your Skin: Avoid excessive sun exposure and any aggressive skin treatments (like chemical peels or strong retinoids) on the treatment area for at least one week prior.

(Post-Treatment Care)

  • Gentle Cleansing: Cleanse your face with a mild, gentle cleanser and lukewarm water for the first 24-48 hours. Avoid harsh scrubbing or exfoliating.
  • Avoid Touching/Pressing: Refrain from touching, massaging, or applying pressure to the treated areas for at least 24-48 hours to prevent displacing the PRF.
  • Stay Hydrated & Rested: Continue to drink plenty of water and allow your body adequate rest to support the healing and regenerative process.
  • Limit Strenuous Activity: Avoid intense exercise, heavy lifting, or activities that cause excessive sweating for at least 24-48 hours after treatment.
  • Protect from Sun: Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily, especially when outdoors, to protect your healing skin from sun damage.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) TREATMENT IN SAINT JOSEPH

What is the PRF Treatment?

At The Aesthetics Lounge and Spa St. Joseph, we offer Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments, a revolutionary way to rejuvenate your skin naturally.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a revolutionary, non-surgical treatment that uses the body’s own healing power to rejuvenate the skin, reduce signs of aging, and enhance overall appearance. Derived from a small sample of the patient’s blood, PRP is rich in growth factors that stimulate collagen production, tissue regeneration, and cellular repair— making it a favorite in modern aesthetic medicine.

Treatable Areas

(What Can Be Treated with PRP?)

PRP is most often used for facial skin rejuvenation, though it can have other applications as well. Some of these include hair restoration and stretch mark treatment on other areas of the body. Overall, the most common skin concerns treated with PRP include:

  • Lines and wrinkles
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Mild to moderate skin laxity
  • Acne or injury scars
  • Enlarged pores

While fillers often produce great results on their own, PRP can be used to thin the hyaluronic acid component of the fillers and allow for a smoother, more natural-looking outcome for patients who have thin skin but desire improvement with fillers.

Most patients experience only mild swelling or redness that resolves within a day or two. Results typically begin to appear within a few weeks and can last several months. For optimal maintenance, treatments are often
recommended every 6–12 months.

WHAT IS PRP?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a popular, natural treatment for skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. During the procedure, a small sample of the patient’s blood is drawn and processed in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma. This concentrated PRP is then carefully injected into targeted areas of the skin or scalp to promote healing and stimulate natural collagen production or hair growth. Since PRP is derived from the patient’s own blood, the risk of allergic reactions or side effects is extremely low, making it a safe and effective option for those seeking non-invasive aesthetic treatments.

PRP Reset: For Skin that Glows & Hair that Grows

Natural Skin Rejuvenation

PRP stimulates collagen and elastin production, leading to firmer, smoother, and more youthful-looking skin. Ideal for the face, neck, and décolletage, PRP supports the skin’s natural ability to heal and renew over time—without synthetic fillers or toxins.

Improves Tone & Texture

PRP helps fade hyperpigmentation, diminish acne scars, and restore a healthy glow. It's a gentle yet effective solution for dull, uneven, or damaged skin—no lasers or harsh chemicals required

Reduces Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Especially effective in delicate areas like under the eyes, PRP softens fine lines by encouraging cell turnover and improving microcirculation. With each session, the skin becomes more supple and evenly textured.

Promotes Hair Growth

PRP isn’t just for skin. When injected into the scalp, it can stimulate dormant hair follicles, improve density, and slow thinning—making it a promising option for early hair loss or androgenic alopecia.
